A topic, which never grows old...... ,-)

How we interact in social media???  The topic never grows old.  Because there are always new forms of social media, to become enamored of.  And someone is always saying, that blogging is dying.  Etc.  Etc.  Etc.
~~~
The only forms I am in, are blogging and IG.  And I do see the lure and fun, of IG.  A quick picture...  A bit about it..  Maybe just Good Morning, or Good Night...  And you are posted.
~~~
Then you visit your lovely IG-found-friends, and click on "Like".  Or click on "Like" and also leave a short little "comment", and your IG time is done.  Quick, easy, covering all the bases of interaction, in social media.  It is a nice place.
But for me, thoughts and words (and a couple of pretty pictures), have always been my first love.  Blogging is the place, for that.  Of course you can only leave a picture and a few words, or a quote, in blogging too...  And have a post.  A quick post, by the way.   Which seems more and more the norm, of people's busy lives.  And I have been falling into that rut.  Quick.  Not daily.  So no one has to spend too much time, here.
~~~
But, if thoughts/words are my first choice, why not indulge in them?  It's my blog.  If people want to take the time, to read...  Wonderful.   If not, that's fine too.  I am not running a popularity contest here.  I am not selling anything.  Numbers should not make any difference.  Doing what I want to do, with my blog, should be the norm.
~~~
And now, what are your views on this whole topic, of interaction in social media?  You must have views.  You are  in social media right now, with reading here.  :-)  Will you please share, with us?   Please and thank you.

Tessa, I only blog and email.LOL I love blogging. I have met wonderful people of all walks of life. If I read a blog that I am not crazy about..I just go on. I can not see taking the time to comment , especially if I can be nice. LOL There's too much meaness in the world, I do not want to add to it. I like looking at face book with my daughter at her house on Sundays. Some times I think..gee zoo, do I need to see your grilled chees sandwich? Am I suppose to "like" it. LOL. I still love to write letters and cards to my family and friends. I like to get letters too. I can carry it to the porch and read it. I know some do their phones...but I am not so much a phone person. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

I agree with everything you said. Love IG for the ease. But I also love blogging and have made many friends over the years so don't plan to give it up. Not everyone has made the switch to IG, though some have and they've totally stopped blogging because of it. You can share more with blogging and in this day and age, when short messages are becoming the norm as people type on tiny devices, I think it is important to keep writing and using real words, not abbreviations or acronyms (most of which I don't even know the meaning of). I've never done Facebook and never plan to. That freaks some people out. I also won't do SnapChat which some people are moving to. A lot of this quick messaging is becoming an addiction for so many. In this country, so many are on their phones while they are driving, and that in my book is the biggest no-no! Even though it's against the law, it's not enforced, and peple don't seem to be concerned about their safety or others. Pretty darn shameful to think that way if you ask me.

Oh! And you are right, your blog. Your IG account. Do what you want. I don't get into the supposed rule following thing either.

Well here I am and yes, I enjoy blogging ... and have 'met' so many people and enjoyed reading or looking at what they have to say.

Social media, technology is ever changing it never stands still, we all have to decide which parts of it we want / need to use.

But - always make time to leave it alone for a while and enjoy what may be just outside our window!!!

All the best Jan

Tessa, I love to read blogs, especially in the morning when I have my cup of coffee. But to be honest, I don't like to read blogs that go on and on and on. I think that's why I delight in yours because you have a few wonderful pictures and a few wonderful words. I try to do the same when I post because I don't think people want to hear about the last time we cut our toe nails (you know what I mean). So, I choose to write shorter posts, but once in awhile they can be longer if I have a story to tell. I have a couple of friends who went on instagram and didn't blog any more, and they are back to blogging cause they missed it so much. There is more communication with our special friends here.......like you. I hope that answered your question a bit. But I guess we have to do what makes us happy because like you said, they are OUR blogs, and some like to write, some like to create, some like to take pictures, and some like to share. I think I'm a combination of all of them. ;)

Thank you for asking, Tessa, and what a great idea for a post.

Great topic, Tessa. I love to visit friends I have "met" blogging. It seems to be a great place to meet kindred spirits. During different seasons in my life I have more or less time to share. I do not belong to Instagram, but I do have a Twitter account and a Facebook account. I mainly started with Facebook to keep up with my grown children. I do not enjoy social media drama so I back away from that nonsense! One thing is for sure, one can spend an enormous amount of time if one is not careful.
Have a great day, Tessa! ♥

well... let's see.
I still have a flip top phone!
and for home I have a land line.
and all I have is one simple blog.
that pretty well puts me into the realm of the dinosaur as far as technology goes!

and as to blogs dying out. I don't know about that. I never read that kind of thing.

I just don't worry about ANY of it!
thanks to you I discovered the world of instagram and am following WONDERFUL ones!
but I don't feel the need to have one.

I think the instant everything... snap chat...
all of that... they keep making every kind of communication shorter and shorter.
just like their attention span!!! LOLOL!

nope. until I die I will enjoy reading ...
long or short... any time it holds my interest and enriches my soul. that's for me.
and
of course...
pictures! it's true. one can be worth a thousand words!
XOXOXO♥
keep blogging dearest bean! we're here!
and loving it.

I like blogging the best, but I only write a post about every week or 10 days. I've met lots of great people all over the world through years of blogging. I love photography, so I also IG, but again, only about once a week. I Facebook but don't post continually. I text with friends and family and also e-mail. I guess even though I'm old, I'm part of the techno crowd!

Hi, Tess...Blogging is my thing. I love every thing about it...I have been at it since Oct. of 2007 and, altho I have taken a few breaks when life got hectic, I've never been off for long. I've never had a blogger block...I generally think of 1 or 2 subjects before I finish a post....I love it.
Facebook is a great way of staying up with the goings-on of our grands..and some long distance friends but it's not all that much fun. I don't do much on IG because I can't load photos on it from my computer.

I love the inspiration that blogging brings to us. It's so interesting that people share their lives through blogging///their homes, their family, their celebrations...their history and of course, great food ideas! I have grown to known so many wonderful people through blogging. I also like FB. It has kept me in touch with my children, my sister and long time friends...only read the positives! Life and the news can be really ugle sometimes, so when someone brings a bright spot to your day, it's all good! Hugs Miss Tessa...off with the fairies....love that!

So glad to have found you again Tessa. I missed your comments and opinions. Not to mention the beautiful artwork you post.
As for your question..
I favor blogging first. I have a FB account but it was setup for me by the insistence of a friend that I needed to get with the current technology. I guess the are only certain tricks you can teach an old dog, but I have never understood one's need to share their life in part or entirely with anyone who just happens upon your site. So no IG, Twitter or whatever else is the latest and greatest for me.
I do enjoy blogging though. Not all sites are appreciated but the ones that I frequent I like very much. So many nice people, places and things to discover.
Generally social media is like fast food to me. Quick, easy and in the long run has a negative effect. I think people need to talk to one another face to face. This is really old school thinking but it's sort of like using a calculator. Pretty soon you don't know how to add using your brain anymore. Maybe that's why things are such a mess today, people have lost the ability to connect with one another.

Interesting post.
I love Instagram, loosing myself in photography, often capturing beautiful moments. And I agree, it's quick. It can be a quick satisfaction.
As much as I love photography and nosing at my friends lives on Instagram, I will always have a love affair with words. Hence my blog and blogging hold a special place in my heart.
