Well, the snow melted yesterday.  But our temps are still

very cold, for this time of year.  So there is no wish (on

my part) to go outside.   But I do have a wish, to begin

sewing again.  So....  That's the plan....

Btw, I am not finding post topics, of late.  My muse has 

fled.  Gone on a holiday.  Or something.  -sigh-  Oh I

think of some things, but either they sound boring...

It makes me wonder if it's so, that "Blogging Is Dead" 

yet again?????

A new "Nana Bag"

My old "Nana Bag", in Gibson Girl fabric, was getting threadbare.  It was time for a new one.

.

I call my regular bag, the "Nana Bag", because I always carried Grand Children necessities in it.  Extra tissues at all times.  When grands get in HS and are playing sports, some chocolate to revive them after a hard game, was another thing, carried in the "Nana Bag."  :-)

.

And...  All the time...   It is the only purse I carry.

Since this fabric has a large pattern, each side looks different.

.

And I even lined it, with another fabric.  It's not perfect, but I am very "proud" of myself.  :-))))))))

Got to the fabric store.

Material for a dress, lamp shade covering, 2 bags, 2 pillows...

This should keep me busy, for awhile.  :-)

A little more progress.......

Did a wee bit more sewing....   Covered a pillow, with the same material, I had used to cover a lamp shade.

.

I purchased this material, a long time ago.  Wish I had a lot more of it, now.  -sigh-  Love the "tea stained" look, it came with. 

.

We don't have a complete sewing/fabric store right here.  Need to go down a few miles, to get to one.  Hope to do this, this coming week.

Oh my!  I will be like a "kid-in-a-candy-store"!!!!  Soooo many fabrics.  Ohhhhhhh!!!   :-))))

Another accomplishment... :-)))

I finally made a "skirt" to cover my lamp shade!!!!

Sorry about the "tilt" of the shade.  

It is an old lamp and it "tilts"...

I used to be embarrassed about this.  

And then I saw beautiful old lamp shades, on Instagram.

Which proudly "tilted."  :-)

Soooo...  Now I am no longer embarrassed.  :-)

Finally.... A skirt....!!! :-)

I finally revved up my sewing machine, and make a skirt.  :-)  Just gathered skirt, with elastic.  Not even a pattern.  But it took me 3 hours.  -----    Hope the next one will "make" quicker.

The material is a cute cherries on a black and white background.  Just fun.

Next I'd like to do the same, for a lamp shade covering.  Made like a little gathered "skirt", with a ruffle on top.

"Betsy" is threaded and ready to go...!!!

"Betsy" (my new sewing machine) is threaded and ready to go!!!!   But the filling the bobbin and doing the top thread, was such an *ordeal* that I have to wait till tomorrow, to sew anything!!!!  I am exhausted!  :-))) 

Oh wow, they say you don't forget, once you learned something.  And I did a lot of simple sewing, "once upon a time."  And some basics, are the same.

But!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I most certainly did not just sit down, and whizzzz through the set up!  -grin-

I gave up on the "fancy-dancy-new" automatic threader.  And simply threaded the needle myself.  Since the machine comes with an automatic threader, I will eventually learn to use it.  But today, I just needed to complete the set up.
